Welcome Back, Jen Vaughan!

We’re delighted to welcome back Jen Vaughan, our Senior Supervising Social Worker, to the Lighthouse Fostering team after her maternity leave. Jen has been an integral part of our fostering community since joining us in 2019, and we’re thrilled to have her return.

Reflecting on her career, Jen’s dedication to fostering is undeniable. She qualified as a social worker in 2014, completing her training with placements working with adults with mental health issues and in the fostering sector. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of social work, especially within fostering. Before joining Lighthouse Fostering, Jen worked with both large and small independent fostering agencies (IFA). However, she has always been drawn to the close-knit feel of a smaller fostering agency, where a true sense of family and community thrives.

During her year-long maternity leave, Jen embraced an incredible, albeit sometimes tiring, journey of motherhood. Now, as she transitions back into her role, her excitement is palpable. Jen shared, “I’m looking forward to rejoining the team and seeing everyone. Plus, the lure of free coffee and indulging in a bit more junk food is an added delight!”

Jen’s enthusiasm and expertise have always been a valued part of what makes Lighthouse Fostering a special place. Our fostering agency prides itself on cultivating a strong sense of community—not just for our foster carers and children but for our team as well. Having Jen back reinforces this, as she continues to support and guide foster carers with her depth of experience and genuine passion for fostering.

At Lighthouse Fostering, we know that it’s the people that make our agency stand out. With Jen’s return, we’re reminded of the commitment and heart that goes into the fostering community we’ve built together.

Welcome back, Jen—we couldn’t be happier to have you with us again!
